Snowmobiling in Ontario
by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad ~ aka Winterman)
Ever since the snowmobile was invented, snowmobiling has become an ever increasing winter activity in Ontario!
For example, thee are 184 member snowmobile clubs in the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC).
According to OFSC there are over 30,000 kilometres of trails to choose from!
That’s definitely a lot of “fun” available for snowmobilers!
Obviously, safety has to be the number one consideration when snowmobiling!
Driving along country roads we see trail makers that let riders know when to use caution or, even, when to stop.
It’s amazing to pass a country restaurant and see a large number of snowmobiles lined up.
Snowmobiling can be a very social winter activity!
However, snowmobiling is much more that that.
In remote communities, snowmobiles are used for survival, the difference between life and death!
Snowmobiling in Ontario makes winters in Ontario safer and more enjoyable.
So, if you see a lot of snowmobiles line up outside a restaurant, you might want to stop and have a “bite“. It probably has great food! There may be a bit of a wait, though!
The video shown below will give you a “taste” of Snowmobiling in Ontario.
