National Home Show Visited
by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)
Judi and I were very familiar with the “old” spring National Home Show.
We had a vendor’s booth for a number of years.
Back when we exhibited, the National Home Show was held in the old Coliseum Building.
Back when we were exhibitors, the Show was held on its own.
Now the National Home Show is held in conjunction with Canada Blooms.
The Shows are held in the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place (Toronto Ontario).
As I have mentioned in other articles (Canada Bloom Visited), we have friends, Barb and Laurence, who love to garden.
Between as, we had agreed to visit the Canada Blooms show again.
At the time I hadn’t realized that Canada Blooms and the National Home Show were combining their efforts.
Not as one giant show, but as two independent show, sharing facilities.
Judi and I hadn’t visited the National Home Show since we had been exhibitors, so we were interested in seeing what the new show was like.
Back in the days when we were vendors, we would like to take turns exploring the show, discovering as many other booth as possible.
With these thoughts in mind, we explored the “current” National Home Show.
The look, of course, was much different.
There was greater “modern technology” being user by exhibitors.
But the “feel“, the “essence“, was the same!
Some of the visitors to the show were still looking for information.
And some for new ideas.
But all were there for a great day of “entertainment“.
