Christkindl Market in Kitchener

by Judi “Scoop” McWilliams

It’s a tradition!

Each year the Christkindl Market comes to downtown Kitchener.

We arrived early in downtown Kitchener! We wanted to find a convenient parking spot.

The Christkindl Market is a very popular pre-Christmas event.

The Market offers a lot of great activities to visitors.

One Christkindl Market tradition is the selling of Christmas trees. You’ll want to get there early for the best selection!

Like most fun events… fun food! It’s a “Christmas party“!

Santa and Santa’s helpers are event there!

Inside the front entrance, there’s a giant decorated Christmas Tree!

One of the main features of the Market are the vendor booths. So many gift ideas!

The Nomad (Gary) and I explored the many booths, marveling at all that we saw!

An “Olde TymeSanta helped visitors to enjoy the festivities!

I couldn’t stop looking at the amazing treats being offered!

As I was wandering around, I lost Gary! I couldn’t find him anywhere!

I started searching the various side rooms and found him starring “bright eyed” at the model train displayKIDS!

I “dragged” him away from the “TOYS“, and we went back outside.

Opening ceremonies at the Christkindl Market were about to begin.

People “mingled“, waiting for the ceremonies.

A “Zamboni” was cleaning the outdoor rink’s ice surface, making it ready for skating FUN!

After the “ice cleaning” ended, the “skating” began.

With the Opening Ceremonies over, Gary and I decided to make our way home. On the way out of town we stopped for a moment to watch the Christkindl Market parade making it’s way to the Kitchener City Hall.

If you have never been to the Christkindl Market, make sure you put it on your “Things To Do  at ChristmasBucket List.
