Canada Day in Wasaga Beach

by Judi “Scoop” McWilliams

Canada Day in Wasaga Beach is quite different!

As you may know, the Nomad (Gary) and I have enjoyed a number of Canada Day celebrations.

So when the opportunity came to visit Wasaga’s Canada Day celebrations, we “jumped” at the chance!

Our first stop was the Canada Day art show.

The art show was held in Oakview Woods.

The Woods park is located adjacent to the Wasaga Beach Sportsplex.

A great setting for a wonderful art show!

After enjoying the art show, we headed for “The Beach“.

As you may know, Wasaga Beach is the “longest fresh water beach in the world“.

And people from all over love to experience it and play on it!

And Canada Day is a perfect time to showcase this amazing beach.

The main beach was where a lot of the Canada Day activities take place…

… but the whole community celebrates the day and Canada.

The Nomad and I had a great day, enjoying the Canada Day activities and the “blue waters” of Georgian Bay.

Wasaga Beach is a fanatic place to visit any time of the year, the Canada Day, at “The Beach” is special!

That night, near our home in The Blue Mountains, we sat in our car, atop one of the surrounding “mountains” and watched Wasaga Canada Day fireworks “light up the sky“!
